Yeah, a rushed, sketchy Skyrim comic. Don't get me started on the Horse AI...

This week Bethesda announced that there will be no more content patches and DLC for Skyrim. I can't help but the be rather disappointed. Not in that there won't be more content, but that they ended the story the way it was. Everything pointed towards another war with the Thalmor...something I really wanted to see. I really wanted to kick their ass once and for all. I mean REALLY bad. I hope they release a novel or something to wrap up the story. It just simply can't end like this...

Although I suppose this is not surprising since last patch they removed the level cap. No point developing more content if everyone would be able to blow through it in God Mode.

The other disappointing thing is that the next Elder Scrolls game is going to be an MMO. We all know what happens to gaming companies when they go MMO- they never go back. Blizz is just one example of that. Once they see just how much of a cash cow MMO's are, they just never bother with single player/offline games anymore. Sigh...I highly doubt there will ever be an Elder Scrolls 6.

Luckily, Elder Scrolls is being made by Zenimax, the sister company to Bathesda. It also helps that they set it a few thousand years in the past. We already know how it turned out, so join the winning team! :D I laugh at the others who think they can change the course of history.

As for the comic, I get the ruined stealth, a lot. Whenever I'm sneaky, my companions simply charge in and make me miss my target. Doesn't help she conspires with my enemies...

Skyrim and the ES games were all fun... but after Mount and Blade (can't wait for the new one!) the combat just felt stale. Agree all too much that MMOs are taking over the game market and wish more single player games would come out again. I don't need or want to spend every minute online during playtime!

I thought Skyrum was good but not as good as I was expecting it seems like it was only half finished with the writing. like it need a war with the Thalmor after such a big part they played in the story and that never happen.

all tho many company try to make MMOs WoW is the only one iv seen that has really stayed around. I personaly think ESO (elder scrolls online) will do ok but won't be a wow killer.

So I hope that will encourage them to make more ES which I think make a very good adventure game when you don't what to share mining nods with other players.

by the way can Sara really beat Kleeyo up that easily?

Yeah, It won't be a wow-killer, but I think it will do better than any other 3rd party MMO out there for the simple fact that ES has quite a large following, similar to how the warcraft franchise did prior to WoW. The only thing that will kill WoW is blizzard themselves (who are doing a pretty good job at it, IMO).

Who are doing a good job at it IMO too.

I have a yearning to play it, but this dumbed-down version of the game just isn't the same. On top of that there's things that I personally liked about pre-Cata WoW that will only be playable again if someone re-creates them on a private server.

I would say age, it a really old game, but I'm interested in what change have they made that you don't like.

Sara beating up Kleeyo!?! No way!!

I don't know whether to be apalled, shocked or proud of her. Well... not too proud; it's not nice seeing Talia so upset.

Elder Scrolls 6?

Yes, I'm terrible.

But seriously, I was hoping the next one would be in Elswyr, since they seemed to be kind of hinting at it with a few things here and there in Skyrim. That and what better contrast to Skyrim's frozen North than the jungles and deserts of Elswyr?

As for the "followers", yeah, I stopped using them altogether, especially since my character is a sneaky Khajiit sniper lady. I can surprise dragons and get by all sorts of traps... Unless the idiot in heavy armor is right behind me triggering all of them. Much better to go it alone, and if things go bad, I get get werewolf on their asses and why is it so satisfying to eat bandit corpses as a werewolf in Skyrim?

Anyway, funny comic. I'm with Sara here; you just don't all a person that dumb without pounding on them, Tauren or no. ;)

There is the fan-made unofficial expansion "Moons of Elswyr" which is pretty frigg'n impressive. You can find it on Steam if you are playing the PC version. The talent of some modders out there never ceases to amaze.

I do have the PC version. I'll have to look for that. Is it on Steam, or do I have to download it from a third-party site?

If you go to the skyrim details page (where your achievements are listed, ect) and click on "steam workshop" it will come up with a list of all the available mods. It'll probably be buried so you may have to use the search engine. It should be in the top 10 downloads though. It downloads straight off steam.

Moonpath to Elsweyr is such a great mod! I expected it to be a short little thing, but it turned out to be much longer than I thought!

Too bad it led to my followers turning on the innocent mage in my party. Ever since then, the mastermind of it all became my only companion to actually follow me around, and she back-stabs me in whatever way possible. There is just no sneaking with her around.
Clef 23rd Apr 2013, 3:58 PM edit delete reply
Yeah, that's the name of it.

Found it, downloaded it, and ran through it. Quite a fun little mod/add-on, even if it's a bit glitchy here and there and isn't always clear on where to go next. Still, nice little diversion, thanks for the recommendation.
