I was wondering earlier why Alistair wanted to test Tania's staff out. Sounds like there's more to it than meets the eye...

hmm, interesting.

Also, yay! Thanks for another update!

If what I suspect is true, and that staff is Void-Touched, it's possible it ticks off of emotion - since Blizzard have that being a very Old God thing at the moment. That would mean Tallia's anger, battle-rage, even her adrenaline would act like a turbo-charger on her natural magical energy.

And before you say that a Holy priest wouldn't use a Void weapon: Shadow Puppies Go! remember that Tallia's not strictly either Holy, or Discipline. She's more than capable of calling on Shadow if she wants to. In fact, given the stakes I can almost guarantee it.

Her look in that last panel tells me this is substantially correct. Also, Allistair, being a magic user, will be able to tell this the minute he touches that staff as well. His insistence on Tallia doing just that indicates he believes that the staff may react similarly to *his* emotions as well; and, if that is the case, then as a much higher level magic user the results should be very spectacular.

Honestly, after finally playing a priest a bit and trying out the various specs, Discipline is really shadow/void heavy. At least, more so than I'd expect it to be. Or at least up until level 60 or so; haven't played it much past that.

I prefer Holy, anyway; if you're gonna heal, HEAL.

After Level 60 Disc settles into just DPS heal. Shadow, on the other hand, gets darker and darker. STM is the scariest talent in-game, and a stunning one when you follow the implication of it all the way through. Blizzard's very use of "Insanity" as a resource was a horribly insensitive choice on their part from the beginning. Having a talent that essentially forces a character to commit suicide as a power boost is as dark as I ever want to see this game get.

But as a side not, the new void form stuff can get freak really quick with those shadow tendrils coming out of you.

Tallia: "It...It's a transmog..." *reveals an artifact weapon*

Woo! Updates!

I sure wanna know what trick that staff has, but I'm even more keen to know why Alistair wants to be hit by it.
