Well, seeing how I have absolutely nothing else to post as I continue to wait for the unit connex to arrive via slow-boat, I figured I would compile one of my used WIPs to make one of those comics that shows the development process of an S&K image. It is nothing special as I am only an amateur artist, but again, this is the kind of things I have to think up of to fill the comic-less void and still give visitors something to look at each week.
I'm still continuing to draw, however. I have the next four comics drawn out, so when my scanner finally arrives I can just work on coloring and compiling, which will free up quite a bit of time to do other things...such as...I dunno...maybe giving cataclysm another try?
There have been a few small site changes. Comments now have a reply feature, so no more need for "@username" responses when addressing someone's comment. I also added one of those little facebook "like" buttons just above the weekly comic posted date near the upper left hand corner.
Exit Question: Do any of you belong to an ACTIVE social guild that could (eventually) use another healer for regular heroic runs and battlegrounds? (PvE server preferred)

My tauren huntress takes offense to being called a 'cow' and is now stalking you.
Tohopekaliga: I. AM NOT. A COW!!!
You should run; she has access to a science fiction arsenal I have conveniently placed in my imagination, where it is kept safe from the Penguin Menace. Remember kids, particle beam cannons are only fun when you're on the giving end.
In all seriousness, it's always neat to see someone show how they put together a picture, as my personal art skills are only about .03 out of a scale of 0 to 10. Seriously, stick figures waging 2D war is the best I can do, so it's always neat to see the freakin alien space magic that you arteest types pull. ;)

Heh, that's a VERY leading exit question you have thar :-p
Sadly Cataclysm killed off the WoW guilds I was in.

Never really thought about how comics are drawn, guess i know now!
Also, <Horde Monsters> on Gundrak - US sounds like what you are looking for! We are a very active and HIGHLY social guild that is more a close dysfunctional family than anything else. We do our raids, lead by me, and also PvP such as BGs and other nonsense, lead by an awesome girl from Australia. And, oh, always could use another friendly face!
We are level 25, with a scrappy 10/12 progression and counring, and we value humor and social skills over 1337 DPS!
Hope to see you around!

Datholycow, is this your website? (http://hordemonsters.mmoguildsites.com/)? I have it bookmarked for contact information reference. It doesn't look like there's been any activity there for a while, Do you still use it?
It will still be a while before I can follow up on this, as my copy of cataclysm is in the same box as my scanner -_-

Holy shit, we have a guild website? [/jk]
In all seriousness though, the website have been used a grand total of... never? We find the in-game calender and guild MOTD adequate for organisation, and ventrilo is usually occupied if you care to log on.
I WISH that the site gets used, but you know the saying about wishes...
Tell me where i can throw you some vent details if you are into that kinda thing!

Thats funny i can just imagine a tauren in heels
25th Jun 2011, 11:42 PM
I love the 'witty' remark and whole-heartedly agree, but them high heeled things aren't for ANYBODY as far as I'm concerned... sexy be damned, I much prefer COMFORT! I say if men like them, men should walk around in them... lol
Now, just to clarify in my own mind, that looks like the frame from the Scarlet Mage attacking Kleeyo. Am I right, or is that just something extremely close?
25th Jun 2011, 11:47 PM
It's the same image. I don't have anything new to post, so I just broke down one of my older WIPs to show the process of it being made. I picked that particular image because it had more detail then most.
26th Jun 2011, 1:59 PM
I enjoyed the breakdown a lot. My father, who is also an artist, once did a piece with my husband's human paladin and my belf paladin fighting side by side, and as far as I'm concerned, the creative process is the best part of the whole thing. :)

Wish I had that kind of talent and ability, as it is I love to draw, but suck at it.
As to inviting to my guild, I would, on dragonmaw, but all the good raiding guilds have vanished :(

It doesn't matter to me much, as I don't use facebook, but I had a thought. It might make more sense to put your "like" button under the comic instead of above it. That way when people are finished reading having scrolled down, the button is right there. Its hard to know if you like something before you read it (though I can say that I do like all of your comics). I checked out a dozen or so other comics and that seems to be pretty standard. Not a big deal at all but it might help you get more "likes" since people might not be as likely to scroll back up to click. Just trying to help!
Also, you would totally be welcome in my guild, if we were still active enough to really qualify as one. We're pretty much just a handfull of friends that screw around together now and again in a few heroics or battlegrounds, but even that is hit and miss.
It was pretty neat seeing the steps you take in making your art. Nice!

i'm in a pretty active guild on Bleeding Hollow, there's currently 2 raid groups going with a tuesday/thursday and wednesday/sunday schedule and they've been able to take down most of the cata raid content so far with a fair number of heroic raid bosses. check out http://www.sturmgrenadier.com if you're interested, there's also other games we're involved with there and a good number of members are currently on active duty as well.

I belong to a guild that mostly runs heroics, alliance side. My horde guild is heavy into raiding, so I'm sure thats not what you want. But my alliance guild is heavy into heroics and would appreciate another healer greatly! My main is a Draenei DK tank and I'd love to have a set healer. I hate pug heals. I'm on Runetotem and my toon's name is Cerséi. If you can't do the special character, try Ellysetta. Thats my resto druid that I use for herb farming. This is an alliance guild though, not horde. I'm afraid I can't help you with casual heroic guild for horde toons.
27th Jun 2011, 8:37 PM
I'm a career Alliance player. However I'm looking for primarily a social reason to play- I don't care which faction, hence why I'm willing to make a Horde as my main if need be. Do you have a guild website?

I'm activish in the Heroes of Lordaeron, a fanclub for the All Things Azeroth podcast on the Argent Dawn server. Their not current raiders, having a long way top go, but their shaping up and filled with fun folk. http://myguildhome.com/hol/ is our general site. If you like check out the show on Itunes and drop by and roll an alt. My handle thee is Khristin.
28th Jun 2011, 7:24 PM
Hmm...I'll check it out. Never been on an RP server before. Are things really that different there besides the strict naming policies? (i.e. still trade chat trolls spouting off with anal jokes and murloc movie hour?)
28th Jun 2011, 12:22 PM
Can't help you with the guild question, though it looks like you have some good leads. *cheer*
Just wanted to add good wishes for speedy arrival of stuff - having just moved and spent a month living in hotel rooms and "camping" in the new place, I have such empathy for anyone waiting for their stuff to get to them!
Kudos for managing to post an update anyway! I love seeing the "this is how I do what I do" pieces people do. And as a very strange person who in her teens used to run in three inch heels routinely, this made me giggle far more than it should have. ;)
28th Jun 2011, 10:30 PM
sigh... my mind is in a very bad place with that picture... XD
28th Jun 2011, 10:34 PM
...which is perfectly healthy....

I'm in a level 25+ guild. (not sure what level we are at currently have been able to play in like 2 weeks). My guild is raiding and pvp on spirestone(pve). Last time I was on we had progressed to 7/12 in raids. Dysfunctional Family is always looking for healers we are Horde. This is our facebook I dont think we have a website anymore http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=100002398026323&sk=wall
cammilla is my main
30th Jun 2011, 3:03 PM
Oh yeah we do heroics, rbg, and different daily runs. just depends on who all is on and who decides to get stuff going. We do have raids scheduled
30th Jun 2011, 3:26 PM
well i suppose i have to give justice to our guild, very social people that took me under there wings and thought me how to PVP when i had just got my first maxed level. were not 25 (were that laid back) were only 21 but are in much need of a healer who wants to do RBGs or just BGs or any PVP for that matter and we need more healers for heroics and raids. (were starting raiding on a weekly basic now) and for the record we need just about every thing lol! good DPS good Tanks, (im the only OP tank in guild) like i said were social and laid back. so if any one is interested were in peronold normal server horde side the guild is Orphan Makers! look up and send mail to Ex if you roll an alt there, thats me and ill respond!
now that im done with that load, i love this page! i draw with a number 2 pencil and color with corala twisty pencils! so this is cool stuff to see.
as i side note i hope you changing guilds and realms wont change the comic to much, this is gold what you have right here!
