...and so concludes this story arc. NOW I'm finished with Deathwing. Yup, he gets to spend an eternity as the Stone Mother's panties. Let that be a lesson to all NPC's who think about further destroying my favorite part of the game.

I will be going back to a gag-a-day format until I'm ready to start another story.

All but the 5th panel is hand drawn. It did not cut down on as much time as I thought, but it did remove much of the tedious stuff which I hated doing.

As far as in-game stuff. I went ahead cancelled my subscription. I tried out cata and made my attempt to find a social reason to play, but It didn't work out as well as I had hoped for. S&K will still continue as long as I can do it. I've gathered up enough material these past 2 months to keep it going for quite a while, nonetheless. Heh.

Raiding, large guild activities and such on my server is simply dead. I jumped around a few guilds and asked people who used to be in the large raiding guilds that have broken up since Cata's release about what happened, and the general consensus I'm getting from THEM is that people simply lacked enthusiasm for the new content, and raiders slowly trickled away from the game until the guilds collapsed. Now all I see is small, largely inactive guilds who cannot even fill their own 5 man heroics, let alone 10 man raids.

I know I certainly get that feeling when I run 5-man heroics. The valor point cap grind has become such a tedious chore that I can tell the puggers I run with simply don't want to be there.

Exit queston: I'm thinking of trying Tera online when it's released. Does anyone else have recommended MMO's or ones you are considering trying out?

Try Lord of the Rings Online for a current MMO. (http://www.lotro.com/)

Please take a look at Star Wars: The Old Republic for a new MMO. (http://www.swtor.com)

Want a mature pan-MMO guild? Please check out Shadow Company (http://shadowcompany.guildportal.com)

Good Luck!

I'D buy a pair of Deathwing underpants.

What?

The real tragedy is that all this could've been avoided if someone just bought him a hooker.

The moral of the story? Give that sad lonely guy in the bar a prostitute. You might just save Azeroth.

Well, I personally am having a blast playing rift (and at least on my server it's going strong). They are providing content at a rate that makes WoW's content patching look like a sumo running in a professional grade marathon.

On the other hand, I still play WoW on silverhand, and thankfully due to being part of leftovers raiding (leftoversraiding.org) I have never lacked in finding a raiding group. It's been a blessing, especially with the shifting of guilds over time. There's a lot of opportunity [71 raids run this last week] and both horde and alliance are included.

Oh, and love the comics! Thank you for all the work you have put into them. :D

Well, serves him right for destroyed the old world. dick...and i really don't play too many MMOs. I think the only one i've played other than WoW was RuneScape. And we all know RuneScape is where baby WoW players are born, right? :P Great comic. Was awesome opening it on my birthday. XP

This is one of my favorite S&K's yet, clever idea, funny, and well drawn.

As far as WoW goes, I pretty much agree with the whole raiding and instancing thing. However PvP is still holding my interest. Fast queues, and a couple of bad players generally isn't gonna ruin the game, unlike instances and raids. Perhaps it is also because losing a BG doesn't bother me as much as having a horrible instance team or hours of wiping in a pug raid. No raid leaders asking for people with a minimum item level of gear so obscenely high that you wouldn't even need to go in the first place other then maybe 1 drop. Also, it's alot easier to get a friend or two and go do arenas then to try to get a raid together.

I guess it sounds like I am complaining about PvE alot, but what I am getting at, is that PvP is still fun enough to keep me playing. That and the few friends that have stuck around. Anyhow, great strip!

Well it was a good plan at least. Who would have known it would backfire like this.

As for MMO, I'm definitely going to try out The Secret World when it releases (or goes beta). http://www.thesecretworld.com/

Woah, that looks like a nice game. Reading the description, kind of sounds like one of those Bethesda-style RPGs (marrowind/Fallout, ect) only multiplayer. Got it bookmarked. Thanks!

i personally thought cata was one of the best expatiation launched how ever i hear its coming to an end in 4.3 which i hope means 5.0 will be coming out soon, i think the 5 new level deal with cata made the game seem smaller becuse BC and WOTHLK both had 10 new levels, so it felt like you reached the end quickly.

as for the lack of raiding, sorry to hear about that guess your realm just died, as for my realm raiding picked up and i actually got to do some raids at max level!

looking foreword to the comics there really good! (do a story one some time again i thought it was amazing)

exit question from viewer: will you be coming back in 5.0 (next expiation)

If I had a social reason, sure. IMO playing the game just for the progression aspect has become far too tedious. Even enjoyment from raiding and pvp just feels empty if you are not doing it with people you enjoy being around.

i agree with your reasoning there, wow is not a fun game to solo

Star Wars: The Old Republic is probably your best bet for a new MMO. I'm going to get it to give some payback for the Force User plague from Galaxies. That opportunity alone makes it worth my money.

First of all, i'm about dying of laughter on the inside (not allowed to laugh on the outside for slightly awkward reasons =P). Truly now, such a horrible fate, alas, if he had succeeded, I would be beyond jealous of deathwing xD.

Second, yea the whole social aspect of the game. My server feels half dead now >_<. Another guild is trying to steal our GM right now (at least that's what it looks like...), and if she goes, we're going to fall apart. Even worse is real life is acting up for a bunch of us, so our core raid group (and most social bunch) are all occupied. Kinda worrying that everyone is going to quit the game, and as cheesy as it sounds, I'm going to be left alone again (watched a bunch of friends just drift away, real and online).

I'm surprised I didn't see Deathwing utter "giggty" once :P

I ended my subscription as well and for the same reasons. I had five 85s, most geared was my 362(pve geared) druid and the rest of my 85s had at least an ilvl of 355. I'm trying runes of magic right now and that secret world sounds wicked, esp if it doesn't cost to play/buy :) Otherwise I just goof off on addictinggames.com.

heh... "spread my scales" that was good!
Bloodraptor(Echo Isles) 29th Aug 2011, 7:19 PM edit delete reply
Deathwing scales as women's undergarments? hell I'd make that! the whole idea of spreading his flesh around the bodies of sexy women across Azeroth was brilliant! absolutely brilliant! I wish I had that idea! then again, I'd gladly be the sole provider of sexy deathwing scale women's armor! but I'd make a siut of deathwing reinforced hide armor just so deathwing can enjoy the feeling of killing things.

but still, the deathwing hide bras and panties is BRILLIANT! what a dirty minded aspect! I'd fight for him if it meant I'd have a carlet crusade "personal slave". XD

i would also recommend rift, its a fairly fun game with easy allure, good raiding difficulty and all around good qualities about it.

Like the first poster, I'd definitly reccomend Lotro. And its free to play now as well.

It's my fav MMO of all time. Landroval server has the biggest concentration of role players, if thats your thing. There tends to be more mature players per capita than other mmos by my observation. The great community is one of its biggest draws.
Judicaël 31st Aug 2011, 11:19 AM edit delete reply
You can Try GuildWars. It'a a MMO with a speciality : you buy the game and that all folk's !!!^^ Guild Wars 2 is in progress. The site explain that better thanµ. cause I'm french and my english is not perfect.

I noticed the main problem with free-to-play games is that they delete your character after a few months of inactivity. How is LOTR in terms of keeping characters available?
Guest 2nd Sep 2011, 10:35 AM edit delete reply
Lotro, like WoW, will never delete your characters.
DJ Particle 1st Sep 2011, 3:09 AM edit delete reply
I tend to enjoy roleplay more than progression nowadays. Basically, the way I see it is if I only cared about leveling characters, I wouldn't join an MMO. It's the RPG aspect I've dove more into :) You tried it recently?
Clef 1st Sep 2011, 3:13 AM edit delete reply

I can honestly say I've never tried it.

Unless you count this comic series :)
