The day of the play!

Tallia here has more dialogue than all her other appearances combined, so I decided to give her a little character and have her sound a little more child-like. (I replaced her L's and R's with W's)

In addition, it would be criminal to have a wow-themed stage introduction without Stagemaster Barnes!

HA! I couldn't stop laughing after stage fright. Genius! Sara's costume looks like something for Halloween! Perfect XDD I think you said earlier you wanted this series to be out for Halloween I believe? Eh, either way cant wait for next week!
Thisguy 27th Nov 2011, 1:46 AM edit delete reply
Yeah, well, we all knew that Sara would dress up as Neltharion AFTER he underwent his Darth Vader-esque transformation and went evil, replaced his body with metal and became deathwing, just as we knew she would make her costume from DW's corps.

And yeah, I noticed that Tallia had developed a speech impediment :P cute, if not slightly cliche. Obviously she has been taught one or two things about Maly (probably by Sara) since comic 50 when she didnt know who he was.

Also, does this mean that Tallia would pronounce her name as Tawia? I admit, that would be pretty cute.

Also, trust sara not to know the difference between being evil and insane, and being a douche :P

Cliche stuff in THIS comic series? Neeeeeever.

The look of Tallia under the spotlight. I think I'll change my avatar ;D
TheMjohann 27th Nov 2011, 11:58 AM edit delete reply
...Wow... Just wow... Now that is a worlddestroyer i would follow without thinking. ~.^

Clef, you Sir are a Genius, had me in stitches with this one. Tallia'a speech, using Barnes the Stage Manager from Karazhan, Sara's entrance, Brilliant stuff.

Ruri ^_^

Nice touch with Barnes Karazhan is my favorite raid. I solo it every now and then just for fun (though the chess event is hell with one person)Personally I think Karazhan is the most unique, creative and well put together raid in the whole game.
Interesting fun fact, in pre-cata lore deathwing was very nitpicky about his human form apperance wanting it to be as perfect as possible. Possibly because his dragon form was so unstable. In cata he seems to have forgotten that entirely. As a villian his decline is pretty sad. Lore wise he was the coolest warcraft bad-guy (no lie in "Day of the dragon" and "Through the dark portal" he is an unstoppable force of calculating evil far more epic than the rampaging old god servant he's become) It's really sad since Illidan and Arthas remained in-game pretty cool right up to their deaths while deathwing is a joke of his former self. Maybe the idea is that the deathwing out of lore was too powerful and if he was kept at the callibur he was at in the novels there is no way any number of players would ever be able to scratch him let alone take him down.

As much as I hate to admit it, Karazhan was my favorite raid (I know a lot of people were sick of it since many casual guilds were stuck there In BC). It was a perfect entry-level raid. It's basically WoW meets Castlevania, and I loved Castlevania. It had a huge amount of fights, tons of loot for everyone and all the fights were unique from each other to keep variety high.

Never tried to solo it, but I figured the chess event would be impossible. Or do the power of the chess pieces scale with your level?
TheMjohann 27th Nov 2011, 5:14 PM edit delete reply
Chess is soloable, or so im told. but sadly the chesspieces seem to have stats set in stone.
...Personaly i have no idea how you would solo that but im sure someone know.
Adam 27th Nov 2011, 7:47 PM edit delete reply
I went in solo a while back - I managed to do Chess by picking the King and making a bee-line for the other King. Maybe I got lucky and the pieces ignored me, but I got it on the first go. Not sure about Prince, because I saved him for some guildies to come get the achievement.

(Netherspite is still the worst boss in there, you'll want either backup or expert reflexes to get him.)
Clef 27th Nov 2011, 10:26 PM edit delete reply
I'd imagine prince would be pretty easy. With only 1 person present, Enfeeble (the main killer in the fight) would be rendered completely null and void since it doesn't target whoever is highest on aggro (unless you are a hunter/warlock who uses a pet to tank). It would just be all about mitigating or out-healing his melee dps.

Aramir 29th Nov 2011, 8:17 PM edit delete reply
Yeah Malch is pretty easy to solo the netherwing guy is the only one that is impossible because of the light streams that need to be blocked. (takes at least 2 to block green for long enough to win) as for the chess event It's basically keep trying till you get lucky enough with the echo of medivh's choice and timing of cheating which is the biggest pain to get around, thankfully loosing the chess event doesnt cost anything except your time.

One thumb up!(I'd give you two but I'm a little too lazy as of ALWAYS...)
Swifteye 27th Nov 2011, 5:42 PM edit delete reply
Awesome comic, as always.

Now I just have to ask... in the first panel, far left, is that a cameo of Brynne and Lisaara from "Safe Passage" I see? :D

(I have to assume it is; if it *wasn't* intentional, I have to say the coincidence is downright uncanny).
Clef 27th Nov 2011, 5:46 PM edit delete reply
*clicks stopwatch*

Was wondering how long it would take for someone to notice that. Yes, it was intentional :)

Poor Tallia. I've experienced stage fright myself. Hope Kleeyo gives her a big hug afterward for the effort. I also give her 5/5 stars for being the cutest Tauren in history.

Yep, trust Sara to screw up big time. I have an inkling she already knew she was doing something wrong, or why else would she have kept her "costume" secret until the last instant. As a kid she was probably offering up excuses for turning in homework late. "Oh the Goldshire wolves at it."

Clef you most certainly have the mark of a good story teller. That frame where Kleeyo pauses to look disprovingly at Sara is just awesome! I can almost see Sara's reflection in Kleeyo's scornful eyes. I also like the pic of her kneeling reverently as Alextrasza. Kleeyo is so dutiful, so serious, she's a great counterpoint to Sara.

Now how's the gnome going to make an even bigger mess of the play... hmmm...?
Seph 28th Nov 2011, 3:04 AM edit delete reply
Man, if Kleeyo is freaking out over Sara putting on the wrong costume version of Deathwing (which actually looks the coolest out of all the costume, in my opinion. Wicked Cool job!),then she's not going to last long in this play (let alone for the day).

Also, @ Swifteye: Awesome observation! Completely missed that! Guess you really live up to the namepost
@Clef: it was cool how you sneaked them in! Is there any other Easter eggs you hid in you comic(s)?
Clef 28th Nov 2011, 8:02 AM edit delete reply
Oh, I'm sure there will be more.
Cadistra 28th Nov 2011, 6:56 AM edit delete reply
Oooooh, Kleeyo as Alexstraza is so pretty! :D
Also, I can't believe you put Brynne and Lisaara in the crowd! I was grinning from ear to ear!
(Brynne's actually blonde, but since I NEVER coloured her I can't object. XD )
Clef 28th Nov 2011, 7:38 AM edit delete reply
Yeah, didn't really have a color code to go by. A blonde (future) hunter!? That's like a ninja wearing white! Heh...

Besides....a crowd full of could I not include the 2 most popular orphans in WoW....
Hyolia 29th Nov 2011, 9:19 AM edit delete reply
Well, still beats a ninja wearing orange.
Daisybelle 29th Nov 2011, 12:34 AM edit delete reply
He-lo Caddie!
Bloodraptor(Echo Isles) 28th Nov 2011, 8:19 AM edit delete reply
I'dsit and watch that play, and laugh for the various reasons. Tallia looking so cute as a little malygos. ^_^ adorable. ^_^

an approving nod for Kleeyo's preformance. an obvious laugh for Sara's costume choice getting the wrong idea. I'd almost die laughing from that hilarity. I just want to show up in my T6 rogue gear and catch this show unfold. XD

Why do i have a strange sense that someone is going to be possessed?
Maybe it's just me, or whoever is making me type this. Oh GOD! Make it stop its making me type weird things! Flimflom Lollypop bloom!
Karl 30th Nov 2011, 5:05 AM edit delete reply
I never knew Sara was a warrior.
Clef 1st Dec 2011, 1:00 AM edit delete reply
She's a paladin, which is just a wannabe warrior with more glitter in their spells.
Odinfrost 30th Nov 2011, 1:53 PM edit delete reply
Sooo, we hava Sara in a Deathwing costume, hmm. Do I sense several future random apperances of Sara in that cosume just for gigles? And her yelling she is the cataclysm, i cannot think she wouldnt
Nightwill 1st Dec 2011, 6:15 AM edit delete reply
Kara is totally soloable. Chess just takes some fast footwork and even then you can just do it sloppily and do well.

I do so love how you draw tauren. Kleeyo looks great.
sacridshadow 5th Dec 2011, 10:58 AM edit delete reply
Hey, at least the kids know who she's supposed to be! So it doesn't really matter. :D
