No comic this week. I know some were anticipating to see how Kleeyo would be freed from the evil clutches of Sara's cleavage, but that'll be next week. Last weekend I studied some photoshop tutorials and this image was the product of my first attempt with that (slightly) expanded knowledge. I took the time this week to make the image above as well as my new avatar. Just listen to the music in the background as Dee-dub dances! "baby don't hurt me...don't hurt me no more!"

I'll be doing next week's comic in this style just to see how it looks (obviously it wont have that level of armor detail and such, but I mean as far as digital inking and shading only)

I figured an image of Sara would be a good start. Always been wanting to do some sort of glorified tribute image of her, because regardless of the fact I don't play the game anymore, there will never be another game that I'll invest as much time into as I did with WoW, and Sara was my avatar nearly that whole time. 300+ playing days on Sara. And if Kleeyo's played time is added, would be easily 1 year played time (spread out starting from the vanilla AQ40 patch to WotlK 3.3 patch). I do believe that is enough time to declare legal residency in Azeroth.

It's still hard to believe...1 waking year of my life trying to save Azeroth...and the place is STILL falling apart! Maybe what's why the subscriber base is shrinking, not because of the constant changes blizz makes to the game, but the people fighting to save that world are saying "&^% it I've been at this for years and its been one crisis after another. This world just WANTS to implode for some reason!" But overall I don't have too many regrets. All my real-life and internet friends played the game, so WoW was pretty much the hub of my social life with all of them for all those years, so I don't feel like I missed out on anything during that time. Well, maybe 1 regret...I could have used that time to improve my art, heh...

But you know what they say...if you ever feel guilty about spending too much time doing unproductive things...just think about how much time you invest on sleep!

Exit question: Would you like to see more images like this from time to time? Or should I stick strictly to comics?

Holy Cow ... simply magnificent!

Looks a bit more manga-ish than your usual style but it really works and has that "professional glistening".

Short: I like it very much.

It suppose it would be much appreciated by many of those who visit this page to see artwork like this.

I do look forward to the next strips done in this style.

holy heck this is awesome!!! I go a little cross eyed looking at her mouth, but I think that's tiredness and lack of glasses. =) What model are you using for the mace?
I don't think there's one bit of conflict in Sara taking the bad guy's mace away from him and beating him to death with it. ;)
I came in to WoW in BC so I don't have quite the span of crises-spent-trying-to-save-Azeroth, but I *was* looking around the other day calculating the shocking number of days played across my old server characters and the current server characters, and for all that time the world is still determined to go to hell in a handbasket. It does get a bit frustrating after a while.

Exit question - draw what you like! I only really mind when artists fall off the face of the earth without even a shout goodbye... I like seeing the evolution of skill and style.

Yeah, open-mouth smiles are one of the hardest things for me to get right. if I redid the image that would be the first thing I'd fix.

The mace is modeled after the season 9 spellpower mace.

First off, thanks for getting the song stuck in my head -_-

Second off, this is totally awesome. I wouldn't mind seeing a full on version of Kleeyo, Tallia, and all the rest! Plus it's good practice, and as they say, practice make perfect :D

You know, that kinda made me check some tutorials as well.. I guess I should be grateful :D Will know when I use the newfound knowledge ;)

As for the exit question, draw as many of these as you want, they look great and I know how fun drawing a full character can be

Really cool that you try out new styles. I love the result, the shading on the armor adds so much to the image. I don't know if it was intentional but the light forms an aureole around her head, adding to the look of a holy warrior. The skeleton heads on her mace on the other hand kinda skews that image.

As a reader there is nothing more I wish than the artist evolving, so please feel free to add more images like this.

Azeroth seems to be doomed, there is not only internal struggle, but always something threatening to destroy the whole world. You kinda wonder if your character will ever succeed in the quest to make Azeroth save. I mean there is a cave under Orgrimmar filled with demons. The cave has been cleared for demons at least ten times a day for over nine years but the demons are still not giving up....

Yeah. Drawing things on rounded surfaces is tricky.
Coragenan 5th Feb 2012, 5:00 PM edit delete reply
Or in this case drawing round surfaces he he. Yeah there's never a dull moment in Azeroth between crisis which is why im looking forward to Mist of Pandaria. We're finally going back to what warcraft is really all about. Alliance vs Horde! If only we were on same servers would of been an honor to play with ya, godspeed Sara & Kleeyo!

I don't know much about MoP's lore. There's going to be dungeons and raids, right? There's gotta be some sort of "prime evil" for the expansion, even if its just a corrupt Pandaran warlord or something. Whatever it is, it will probably pale in scope to the threat that Deathwing was.

Or are the dungeons going to involve fighting the other faction, like the Crusader's Coliseum instances?

Nicely done, sir!

I don't suppose you have a DeviantArt account? I'd love to see you work on your art more after you finish the comic.

Not yet. I intend to make one though once I have time to work on unrelated art.
Tumster 5th Feb 2012, 6:34 PM edit delete reply
I'd certainly like to see more full size posters of the main cast. Very nicely done :-)

Wonderful full image of saradenko. That was pretty good.

Your avatar however was the first picture i disable on your site. Blinking color background is bad for monday mornings, sorry.

Wow. For once Sara does the AD uniform proud! I like the metalic sheen and glint on all her armour pieces, and the similar reflective qualities you've put in her eyes and her hair. Of course I always like your drawings to begin with, but this is just awesome!

Looks really nice. Awesome even, amazing. In my views this is one of your best
Wideload 7th Feb 2012, 12:10 AM edit delete reply
This is a fabulous image, and I'm glad you did it of Sara. She's by far my favorite character in your lineup (my main and fave toon is my Human female pally as well). I started tuning into your webcomic after seeing your work on a guest spot at some point, and check back every week, and you never disappoint.
