Here's the new style. Let me know if you think this is an improvement or not over the old style, so I know which way to go. I'm still going to experiment more. This way is a bit more time consuming, but I feel it yield a little bit better quality.

I gave in and picked up Skyrim for xbox360 a few days ago. Came home from Best Buy by about 7pm and decided just to give it a try, make my character, maybe complete the first mission. Next thing I know the sun was coming up. 6am the following day.

Sigh...."Not again..."

Not since vanilla Wow did I lose myself to a game like that...probably because it reminds me so much of the immersive parts of vanilla that I enjoyed so much...well, minus the multiplayer. I'm sure the story in that game would be even more compelling if I'd actually played the previous Elder Scrolls games.

Despite how clearly awesome that game is, I'm just amazed on how plagued that it is with bugs and glitches. Occasionally I have to look up quests on wiki and almost every quest there has a long list of known bugs...some of which are game breaking (i.e. main storyline questgivers becoming inaccessible, ect). They obviously spared no effort on the environmental detail, which needles to say is phenomenal...but looks like they TOOK no effort with pre-release play testing.

..and on top of all else, I my level 38 Redguard is almost maxed out on Heavy Armor and Restoration....sigh...I just can't seem to get away from plate-wearing healers...

Ooch! Poor Kleeyo. Was she telling the truth in saying that she meant her shield and dagger?

I like the look of outrage on Sara's face in the two following panels. Another good episode Clef.

Heh, yeah, her intended statement was completely misinterpreted.

I know what you mean about Skyrim. After sever days of watching my hubby play it, I secretly created a character and started playing it one day while he actually left (he went to go help his brother move something). He came back and caught me red-handed. Now we have the same dilemma we had way back when we both started to play WoW: two players, one console and one copy of the game....

We have also discovered that shots to the knee are insta-kills too lmao XD

It really is a great improvement, everything looks a lot smoother then before, not to mention it really makes your characters blend into the background a lot better.

Even though it does take up more time, It's well worth it. Just like with Sara, are we going to see an art test too of your other characters?

Gotta say, the new style is certainly interesting. I especially like they're new expressions and how they so much more expressive. But as awesome as it looks, it feels that there is something missing that was present in the earlier comics (although i can't seem to figure out what). I must admit, i do like the way you colored you pictures in the older comics versus the way you do it now; it had a much warmer look to it. Also, I think you should also go back to de-connecting Sara's jaw line from her earlobe (i thought it looked slightly better before). But I could be wrong, and it may look worse, i really don't know as much about drawing. Anyway, keep up the great work. Always look forward to your updates.

As for Skyrim,

Sorry, forgot to delete those last three words. i really don't have anything to say about skyrim.

Maybe the lack of looking pencil drawn/colored is what you are referring to? Looking back and comparing old vs new the old looks more hand sketched while the new looks more glossy and refined. I kinda liked the old school look too, but I still want to see full profiles of all the other characters as well :D The old school look just seems like it has more to it and it blends so well with the backgrounds. I like the new style too. Maybe a new project or side project perhaps?

I like the new style, certainly. If it's better for you this way, then do it.

Ahh, Skyrim. Like you it's my first Elder Scrolls game. Like you I'm kinda miffed at the glitches. Still, it's really fun, and my level 36 Khajiit is an excellent sniper, having sunk points into bows and sneaking. *Thwip!* AHAHAHA! One shot one kill, baby!

And then a dragon attacked Solitude. While I was in it. I mean, seriously, a city? That dragon had cajones.

Too bad I cut them off with my swashbuckling action™.

Loved the comic this week! Keep it up! I check back here every week you never fail to give me a good laugh and a smile.

As for Skyrim, as a pretty longtime elder scrolls player (morrowind, oblivion, and skyrim) those games have a history of starting out very glitchy, the glitches are usually fixed by official or non-official mods and patches. The advantage of the PC version of course is that it is easily and infinitely mod-able. Up to and including adding whole new areas of the map that are player made, if you so desire. There's even a program that comes with the PC version of the game called the elder scrolls construction kit that is essentially a mod-creation tool. The game is designed to be easily moddable and that is one of the things that makes it so flexible and amazing.

Yeah, games with the most active modding communities are the games that have the longest life spans. Morrowind, Warcraft 3 and the such are still heavily played games despite each being like 10 years old. Fans constantly adding new content certainly keeps games alive!

@Rokas Tell me about it! A dragon attacked the front gate of Riften right after my character got married! The guards and I made short work of it, but not before it killed my spouse who was only just starting to walk the road home! I had to reload the game -_-U

Great comic (as always) and although I like the new style, gotta say the old style appealed to me far more :P

I've only created one character so far on Skyrim and everyday I keep changing what I would like to specialise my character in.. So now he's ok at all things but great at nothing xD
The moment when the dragon attacks Whiterun was one of my fav moments though, the roofs of the buildings are still peppered with steel arrows from me and the guards :P

Well, well! Looks like Sara & Kleeyo HD!

Really looks sharper than before, clear lines and stuff.

Also I love the line "Sapped girls don't say no" - that's going to be my new status update =D

But I must admit I also had to look twice to spot Kleeyo having a shield and blade equipped ;)
George 13th Feb 2012, 6:06 AM edit delete reply
You haven't heard it before? I thought it appeared as some 12-year-old's guild name every few months on every server. Maybe mine is just weird.
George 13th Feb 2012, 6:05 AM edit delete reply
With regard to the comic- I like the new art style, and Kleeyo's accidental insult was hilarious.

With regard to Skyrim- I think they've patched out most of the glitches by now. although the only ones I've personally seen are a quest disappearing (which wasn't actually a problem because, while the log "lost" it, I could still complete it normally) and one time where I fell through the wall of a dungeon and into a lower part, which was actually helpful (or least would have been if I hadn't turned the wrong way and ended up back where I fell through =P). The game is definitely awesome, though. First game since Tales of Symphonia to make me stop playing WoW, and unlike you and a lot of other people I haven't particularly gotten bored with the game.

On the Xbox360 version the bugs are still alive and kicking. I'm sure the PC version doesnt need as much support since console commands can get around most bugs. I went on Live just to ensure I had the latest patch, and sure enough I'm still encountering major bugs. I'm locked out of the Winterhold College, can't buy a house in Markarth, my mount often vanishes the second I dismount, still watching NPCs fall through the ground, one-time quests oddly repeating themselves...its seems like every other quest I'm running into some sort of issue...
Rokas 13th Feb 2012, 4:18 PM edit delete reply
You know, that's odd, since I have the 360 version and I haven't even patched it yet (haven't been arsed to hook up my console to the network) and my glitches haven't been that bad. For some reason I have what's-his-name, Hvalder or whatever, the Nord working for the Imperials (I went with them because the Stormcloaks are racist a-holes) running up to me with his weapon drawn every time I enter Whiterun. He just follows me around outside, but doesn't enter buildings with me or go anywhere else. It's really weird. Then there's the annoying thing where the game tells me that I should equip a different helm or armor even though it's clearly inferior to the one I'm already using.
Clef 13th Feb 2012, 7:04 PM edit delete reply
Clef
Heh, yeah, is kinda hard to justify a non-Nord fighting for the Stormcloaks.

That's funny, I have the 360 version and it's been running great... the Microsoft Glitch Fairy either really likes me or really hates you. Or both.

Hey what ever happened to the other people at the play? Like why hasn't anyone jumped in to help out? Don't get me wrong I love the way this is going, I was just wondering.
Sesshy (Muradin) 18th Feb 2012, 5:30 PM edit delete reply
They are probably watching and thinking "Sooo....Yogg is a gay perv that has a think for DW???". At least that's from the audience's point of view. The other play members probably don't see mini-Kleeyo and think Sara is nuts...though "think" is putting it mildly.
