This comic depicts the alliance daily quest "capture more dispatches". This used to be one of the most pain in the ass dailys due to the incredible speed in the belfs and the 1.5 second cast time of the dart. If you had a slower machine or had your settings low, you often wouldn't even see them until they were already out of range. And on top of that, the bodies would usually fall right into the mob-heavy field of converted heroes where you then had to fight up to 10 mobs just to loot the corpse. The quest had since been nerfed by lowering the speed of the belfs to a crawl and reducing the amount of dispatches needed, but due to the past frustration level, it was one I passed up every day when doing my dailys rotation around Icecrown.

Exit question: Do dailys that take an excessive amount of time and effort defeat the purpose of dailys? Were there any that you never bothered doing each day because they took too much time or effort? If so, which ones?

From the current ones, the Twilight Highland's Beer Run. Make no mistake, I loved questing there and these dwarfs are awesome, but this is a vanilla-style escort quest. A daily vanilla-style escort quest. There aren't any of these anywhere anymore for a reason, damn it, don't make me do it *every freaking day*.

Hmm this seems to be one instance when the horde version of the quest is much easier. All you had to do in the horde quest was blow up gnomish flying machines with a rocket launcher rather than loot corpses.

"Thrusting Hodir's Spear", because I always freaking DIED. >:|

Ah, yes...thrusting Hodir's spear...I did the starter quest for that just for the loremaster credit, then never touched it once it went daily.

Yeah, the horde version of "capture more dispatches" just involved shooting down the slow-moving Skybreaker Recon Planes with an RP-GG. All you had to do was stand on a ledge and shoot them as they flew over you. It didn't even require looting quest items.

Man, Hodir's Spear was one of the few dailies I could never do. I barely managed it the first time, and after that I said "screw it."

Right now, as Horde, I don't mind the Bloodgulch dailies. Although the one where you have to yank the dwarves off of their griffins is annoying because half the time the game doesn't register the chain toss properly and you end up spending more time than necessary. Also the one where you blow up the kegs is kind of annoying because apparently, you're competing for them against not only others on your own side but the Alliance players as well, so it's just annoying.

Also, Argent Crusade Hippogryphs for the win. I love using mine.
Also also: DOGGIE ICON! It's adorably cute!

I remember that quest :D

And yes... I am guilty of doing the exact same thing... ^^;

I mean COMON, you have to admit that that part was damn funny! XD

I used to do Icecrown dailies and finish them up in less than 30 mins., so that's not really much of a hassle.

I never did do Hodir's at first. Partly because I'm a scribe and our enchants are waaaay better. But when I did the rep grind, I just turned in a buttload of relics that I had from running Halls of Stone and Lightning. Saved me the effort of doing dailies there. :3

A Blade Fit For A Champion was only worth it becouse it would give you twice the reward, otherwise flying all the way to Howling Fjord could be a pain...

Plus the new Tol Barad dailies, the ones at the peninsula anyway, some are really anoying, like the one you have to release the prisoner, he constantly bugs at the stairs its really annoying... After i got my dragon i stopped doing most dailies there

The hodir spear one was pretty annoying. I usually ended up spending the reward money on repairs from the deaths I racked up while doing the quest.

My absolute least favorites though had to be some of the shattered sun dailies. Particularly the mana cells one and the ones that made you go from the isle, back to outland, and then back to the isle again for the turn in.

I hate doing the dailies in Tol Barad where you have to go any where NEAR Tank the shark... how i hate him -_-

Yep, some daylies are just too horrible to justify doing them.

from WOTLK, the quest "it's abominable" was just too time-consuming to be worth the effort. Likewise the quest to kill dozens of scarlet onslaughts to loot their keys so then you could loot their chests till you had 5 letters.

daylie quests shound't take more than 5 or 6 minutes to complete (so you can do 25 of them in about 2 hours or so) thus reducing the grind. Any quest that goes out of it's way to be completed is just not worth it.

So far, this is my favorite one. XD And the only dailys I did were for Netherwing...
Cyilla 9th Mar 2011, 7:37 PM edit delete reply
The Netherwing one's are irritating. Especially the one where you have to poison the camp's, going back to the main land to get the glands took more time than I thought was necessary, plus the one where you stand on the floating rocks and have to kill the orcs as they fly by, they fly Sooooo slow.
Right now Im lucky enough to where leveling my alts is more important than doing dailies. I just do my scribe one and I'm done for the day.

See, I camped at the bridge where they spawned. Once you get the line going, it goes pretty fast.
