I figured I would try to do a pic with all my characters, even including my (future) Pandaran monk, but without the trouble of trying to draw all that really detailed armor for each :p
Alt-aholicism really is a disease...I was hoping to eventually roll a Pandaran druid, but then I hear there were not going to be any. I mean....what!? How can a bear not turn into...well....a BEAR?
Then I heard they can be death knights. Maybe a lore nerd can correct me if I'm wrong here, but all death knights received their power directly from the Lich King. With the LK being dead for almost 2 years now, and the Pandarans were completely isolated during the scourge conflict, how does that work out? That is, unless Bolvar is currently actively recruiting. Might be time to go back to ICC and clean house again.
Then I heard they can be rogues....I mean WHAT!? They're big, they're borderline obese, they're conspicuous all to hell, and perpetually drunk! Not quite fitting race for a class that's supposed to blend in with the shadows...
Exit question: Is there any particular race/class combo that doesn't exist that you wish you had?

From my understanding, no, the Pandarian cannot be Death Knights.
As far as rogues go, though, it makes a kind of sense in that rogues are the closest thing to ninjas in the game and the Pandarians are already martial artists.
But yeah, unless they changed something... No Pandarian DKs.
As far i can tell in Beta they can be DK's.
So unless that change its basicly Blizz giving its lore the middle finger.
Agein.
Dont get me started on vampire bloodelves...
Nah, i mean the Darkfallen or San'layn or whatever they were called.
Up to Wrath Blizz stated that there was NO vampires in Wow lore.
Until they desided to make them for...some reason.
Well when i look at it it says "Needs Wrath and a char at lvl 55"
It dosent say "You need to pick another race to play this class" like it would with classes that arnt alowed for the class.
Granted i still cant make one and i do have a 67 but until i see the need another race message i still think Blizz might let them be DK's.
You also have to keep in mind that it is in fact a beta, and something like that isn't exactly a high priority. It will be fixed before release I'm sure, and if I remember correctly from Blizzcon they specifically said that the Pandaren can't be DKs.
That -is- true. But this is also Blizz.
I have no doubt that Panda DK's will be made once enough people QQ enough.
I mean just look at what they have done before to silence the crybabies.
But we will find out when the Beta goes live.
And hope for the best. ^_^
As you can see Death Knight is not found under the little "available classes" window.
And actually I've seen very little complains about Pandaren not being able to be DKs. Perhaps, people: 1) Don't want a repeat of the whole, "Worgen can be DKs, and Blizzard having to come up with some last minute lore because people lorenerds couldn't accept 'for the sake of gameplay' as a reason," again. 2) Consider the Pandaren's ability to choose to be either Horde or Alliance to be a fair trade off.
Well the fact that there was Death Knight Worgen and Goblin is because there has been some of those where the Lich King recruitted, more or less the now Death Knight Goblin and Worgen were prob dead before being raised to serve him. The only Pandarian i can think of that ever walked in the game were Chen Stormsnout.
Theoretically, while pandaren are rare, it is not impossible that one was walking around when LK was recruiting, but it would be an incredibly rare occurance, Such as with a DK worgen, or goblin, or, well even dranie, they were around, and it even tells, in one of the early DK quests, how it happened, when you have to kill another of your race.
But with the pandaren, while not impossible that the LK could have snatched one off their island, or found one of the ones who was walking around, it would be rare. Course, with blizz, lorewise, it only acts as if there is only about a dozen or so 'players' out there, which is unrealistic compared to the number of DKS alreday out there. Anyway, i'm suer whatever happens, blizz will give us some sort of explanation as to why it is.
I'mm not an Alt-oholic! Shure I make alot of Altsh, but everyone Doeshh! Doeshn't make me an addict! Aww...this alt has run dry...now i need to get another one.(Hic)
Yeah, I'm an Alt-oholic myself. I have around 10 alts last time i checked, and I only got one character past lvl 60 content and up to lvl 85. Also, I recognize all the girls from the play, and i'm assuming the worgan is the scarlet mage. But, Who is the goblin, and will we see her in future comics?
Also, in regards to the exit question:
Worgan Paladins
It's not that revolutionary of an idea! It makes sense and everything(more sense than Worgan druids)! And i feel that the Draenei should've gotten a new class for cataclysm (the idea i had was, instead of worgan Druids, we could give the dreanei the druids and the paladins to the worgan).
Thats simply outstanding! Y'know that I do always voluntarily fanboi you, Clef, but that here is really one of your best.
Perfect expressions, "real" and fitting proportions, nice playing with the angles, eyes are focussing well (just the goblinas right eye seems a bit long to me) and there is no one looking better then the others (except sexy Sara). ;)
You even managed the Achievment-worthy task of making a dwarven female look nice between a foxy worgen-lady and a Draenei chick.
And regarding your exit question... in my humble opinion there are already far too many possible combinations. Hell yes, make the game more accessible to a wide array of people, but I, speaking as a veteran from the First War, do miss the good times when each faction had its own "speciality" ans "soul" like Paladin at the Blues' side and Shaman for the Horde. Now it's just a stupid mix-up with no real differences than the music and architecture. Blast, I do miss the classic times -,-
Really nicely drawn and yeah I know all about Altoholism, one of my previous guilds had a sub-guild called "Altoholics Anonymous" that had a much larger membership than our main guild.
As for the pandaren rogues comment, shouldn't that apply to Dwarves as well, sure they're short, but also likely borderline obese for their height and probably just as drunk if not more-so than the pandas;)
Gotta say Clef, you've only been getting better at drawing this comic since you started (but even then at the beginning it was already well drawn).
I've also been suffering from altoholism recently...WoW has just gotten extremely boring...I'd probably quit if a new xpac wasn't on the way or if my guild disbanded.
Wish they had thrown in an undead druid, flipped my burger when I heard a rumor about it...then wept a waterfall when it didn't happen ><.
Oh, and quite possibly the best picture you've drawn so far xD
I like your female worgen much more than the in-game model. The hot-fix Blizz needs to run before Mists is the one that gives them a realistic expression and not a perma-snarl. Though, with the existence of worgen males, it does give them an excuse for it.
Race-Class I *really* want to see? Tauren Rogue. Stop looking at me in that tone of voice. My Tauren DK makes no more noise walking/running than my gnome mage. If big undead cheesecake can be that quiet, then a trained assassin cheesecake can be even more quiet. Beefsteak, I meant beefsteak. Also, I wanna see some of those perfectly balanced pandaran corrupted into warlocks. Everyone does, admit it.
Finally, this is beautiful work again. You keep getting better. And glad to see the phrase "future pandaran", so the saga may continue into the mists, yes?
It would be interesting for undead to be pallys. Lore-wise, many Knights of the Silver Hand died during Lordaerons fall, and since undead priests can use the Light, why not pallys? Of course, using Exorscism doesnt guarantee that the forsaken won't turn to dust XD
You should do a comic experimenting with class and race mixups. Like the draenei, they're quite proficient at using magic, so why not make them warlocks? Result: Insane draenei: BOW DOWN TO THE MIGHT OF THE BURNING LEGION!
Clef, I realise this is a bit of a non-sequitur, but it's a quesiton I've just thought of. Where did Talia learn to speak Common? Kleeyo wouldn't have known any Common at the point where she entrusted Talia to The Earthen Ring, and Talia wouldn't have learned Common from them. She didn't seem to have any difficulty understanding Sara or any of the Scarlet Crusaide, unless they were all speaking Taurahe (maybe Sara had improved her language skill since that gaffe in episode #1?).
If Pandaren can be Death Knights, I can understand it from Arthas maybe stumbleing on some during the third war(possible multi-player match references?), where Pandaren were a mercenary unit like the Goblin shredders I think.
still, Pandaren druids isnt something I'd expect. I mean, think how redundant that would be, you're a humanoid race of bear-like people, turning into a bear. and if I'm not mistaken, pandas are marsupials really.
still, I'll credit you on your artwork, very nicely done. ^_^
I can vouch for Pandaren rogues though, since they're a martial arts themed race.
too bad blizz wont put the ban hammer on gnomes rolling as melee classes though... it's a required measure to snuff out the plague of gnome pride.
Looking at all the assembled women has made me realise something. I've never seen a female gnoll. (NOT that I'm saying a gnoll would look good in a bathing suit, male *OR* female!) Or maybe it's just that the gnoll mobs we fight are supposed to be both male and female but there's no disernable difference?
I think we HAVE seen them. They're just humanoid canines, and like other canines, you can't tell the difference between the two genders except for the scent of their ass.
Make it happen clef!
also gnome hunters...
maybe goblins pallies and druids
also i concurr with other statements abotu blood loss >_>
what about belf druids?
Nice work on the facial expressions. I was wondering though, is it just me or is Jo...attacking? It kind of looks like she's about to tackle Kleeyo. xD
I think undead pally is missing. If undead are supposed to be humans that are foresaken then whatever class a human can be the undead should be able to be with that reasoning. And don't say because pallys are holy magic users because there are undead priest and blizz doesnt make undead priest just be dark priest they can be holy so that argument doesnt float.
The explanation I heard goes like this: Undead priests are extreme masochists with incredible willpower who can overcome the fact that the Light literally burns undead. Undead characters are more "cauterized" than "healed" by any Light-based class. Also, most Forsaken priests are canonically supposed to be primarily shadow (which doesn't burn for obvious reasons). Pallies are constantly filled with the Light and use even more of it than priests (even discounting Shadow spec), so Forsaken simply can't manage being paladins.
And yes, I know the Argent Crusade has Forsaken. They might be exceptions, but unlike priests, they probably have to be physically and/or mentally stronger than PCs are allowed to be.
Really nice artwork Clef, although I thought Jyo preferred the "natural bounce" as in http://sarakleeyo.webcomic.ws/comics/17 you may need to redraw Jyo Clef ^_-
I still think Blizzard should have banned gnomes from melee classes, since gnomes are not the least bit intimidating, or even remotely cool.
I mean, gnomes are a JOKE. pink mohawks? stubby limbs? they're essentially prey on the foodchain of Azeroth! they have all the physiological flaws that dictate to any intelligent mind "NOT ALLOWED TO MELEE!". someone in Blizzard's staff team was baked out of their mind when gnomes were given melee options, and someone must have had a lobotomy to allow gnomes to roll as Death Knights when Wrath was in the works!
still, Blood Elves would be great as druids and Shaman(imagine solid gold falcon statues with elemental glowing eyes, the auras looking like a phoenix). imagine how hilarious it would be for a blood Elf to thunderpunt a gnome off a cliff! XD I'd die laughing!
I think worgen would have been better off as the 4th pick for Alliance Monks, not gnomes. I mean, if worgen were given the option to be monks, I'd delete my Worgen warrior and remake him as a monk!
The concept of a gnome monk is pretty weak. They have pathetic reach, even with a weapon, so technically anyone normal sized could always hit them in combat while staying out of their reach. Makes much more sense for them to use magics, where reach is irrelevant.
I honestly cant concieve of either goblins or gnomes wasting their time learning to be monks because of this. BUT,.. its a game and doesnt have to make any sense.

Blizz's lore is so patch-work quilted, why not just let Any race be ANY class? Seriously. That would make way more sense than 90% of the gameplay-convenient story descisions that don't make any sense in the lore.
Wait,.. will blood elf be able to go monk? please say yes. -_-
As I saw, Blood Elves will be able to roll as Monks. Blood Elves are fit for the class since they're a normal sized race.
Worgen should be able to roll monks, not gnomes. I mean really, if you're a melee class, there is no logical way you'd want to be the joke race that fails to retake it's city at every turn even with the full support.
I'll be making a Pandaren Monk though, because it's fitting. and the racial "Bouncy" just sounds like a load of fun. ^_^
also the food buff racial is gonna be super sweet! ^_^
Just started going through the archives after forgetting about this comic for a while, and I still love everything about it.
I know Sara, Kleeyo, and Jyosette, but you got names for the other lovelies there, especially the Worgen? Feline all the way myself, but still a sucker for a decent wolf-girl. =^_^;=

Draenei - Hunter
Dwarf - Death Knight
Goblin - Warlock
Worgen - Mage
Pandaren - Monk
Correct? I left out Sara & Kleeyo because we all know which classes they belong to. :P
But with the pandaren, while not impossible that the LK could have snatched one off their island, or found one of the ones who was walking around, it would be rare. ....I really wanted that worgan paladin....
Q: Why does Kleeyo look so sad?
Well as Kissless (from Wow Eh webcomic) said "It's only what her Earthmother gave her." ;)
Thats simply outstanding! Y'know that I do always voluntarily fanboi you, Clef, but that here is really one of your best.

Lore explation:
they get there acrance power from the stars just like a balence druid!
When you relally think about it a. Araneahe is simular to s balance druid
also........................ Anone notice the humans have some of the higgest chests ingame?

I'd also like to have Forsaken druids, lots of fun for PvP with Will of the Forsaken combined with druid shifting.
anyway, they´re awesome, oh well these furry ones imo most ;)
Heh, I think there are laws about putting children in pics like this. Besides, this is strictly of my playable characters.
So ur pandaren alli or horde?

My Worgen hunter is the only Level 85 I have on the Alliance side... Oh God, why do I have more than one 85? Thank God I stopped playing that game.
Still, Kleeyo and Woogen- WORGEN in bikinis FTW.
